according to:
http://www.unison.ie/irish_independent/ ... ue_id=7768

Quote:
Farther down the scale - and so far unannounced - is the €20m-€25m cut in each of three areas: broadband communications, public transport and the Department of the Environment.

Does the government not realise that cutting broadband will not do the economy any favours? - It's like eating seed instead of sowing it.

The next person to post should say something along the lines of:
Quote:
What can they cat anyway? - there is no public transport in Ireland and certainly no broadband.

Fact is you probably just don't deserve it. You'd only waste your time surfing the interwide worldweb. And then the economy will grind to a halt. So it's your own fault. Plus you voted for them. Possibly.

Oh Jesus Jonny, please don't go there. There's local elections coming up, and when the local Fianna Fail (current government) candidate called to the door, I really wanted to tell them to hurry away before himself came home and tore strips off them for destroying the country (I had just swept the doorstep y'see, and didn't want to be getting the bucket and mop out again). I believe some poor unsuspectiong FF-er knocked on my mother's door though. Dad says it was very entertaining

Funny you mention that. The local FF (I think) canvasser rang the doorbell the other day. I had a feeling they might be calliing around, so I raced to the top of the stairs.

Amazingly L managed to get to the door first.... For probably the same reasons as you were trying to get him off your doorstep!

Damn, spoiling all my fun like that.

But it's for the best, believe me. You 3rd-Worlders would spend company time and, bless you, your own, surfing for porn, armaments and online liquor shops that offer free delivery, and then it's just a short trot to never bothering to get dressed and wandering about the house in soiled underwear waiting for the postman to deliver the latest consignments from Amazon, eBay, Tesco, TeenFluff and Small Calibre Weaponry r Us. This is what would happen if Ireland went broadband on any scale.

Is it any wonder? No. You bring it on yourselves.

Right, I'm off to read your tale of grief. Is it full of woe, and weeping, and gnashing of teeth?

....

Right, I've read it now. So are you still sitting there waiting for the buggers to come and sort it all out?
